Ladies and gentlemen, part 2 - a set of cards

Heippa! It's part two of the card set and like yesterday, there's one lady and one gentleman in these.

Like I said yesterday, same composition and elements, but little tweaks in each. By the way, does the background and the layering papers look familiar? They might as they are the ones I made during the July live (link)! I didn't want to make yet another art journal spread using the elements, but instead used them to make some cards. Ladies and gentlemen, part 1 - a set of cards

Moikka moi! It's the last few days of the July and I have a card project to share. It's actually a set of cards, four in total, and I'm blogging them divided into two posts. So, there's two cards today and two tomorrow.

Today I'm sharing one lady and one gentleman and tomorrow it's then time for another pair. I combined colorful backgrounds with vintage photos in these. There's also white trees to add a touch of light to the layering. Those trees have been waiting for a project for over 6 months now. I cut them for our Christmas cards but got the amount wrong and there was extra left when the cards where done. I then stashed the cut-out trees and when I was looking for an element to include to these, I picked four up.

Each of the cards has a similar composition, but there's some minor differences like the color of the layering elements and the frame. The framing pieces are actually cut from bigger Tim Holtz Idea-ology Backdrop sheets.

In My Heart - card for auction

Hi there! If you follow me on Instagram you've probably already seen that there's a charity auction started (link). I made three cards for the auction and this is one of them. I'm sharing the other two in the course of the month. 

Four amazing ladies and card makers, Erica Andersson, Jo Herbert, Natasha Davies and Verity Biddlecombe joined forces and made an event to help Ukraine. They invited people to join and make cards to be auctioned. The auction started today, March 1st at 12 pm UK time and will close on March 3rd 12 pm UK time. Each card starts with the prize of $5 and go up in increments of at least $1. More info here (link).

The money goes straight to the selected, verified charities and the cards will be sent to the highest bidder only after a proof of donation. So the organizers, nor me, are handling any funds, it all goes straight to the charities and you get to pick the one you want to donate to. You can see the charities from the profile link here (link). 

Like I said, I made three cards for the auction. They are done with similar composition and colors, but each have a different air about them. For this card I chose a stamp by Carabelle Studio for the focal point and used PaperArtsy's Infusions to color both the background and the leaf. This one is the most grungy of the three, I think.

Confetti celebration - PM artist Studio

Hi there and happy Monday! Today I have something colorful to share with you! Some time ago I swapped an ATC with Mariah from PM artist Studio and along the beautiful ATC she also sent me some of their stencils. This is the first project I made with those. 

The stencil is called "Bamboo" (link) but somehow I saw sprinkles in it! I was just about to grab some paints to use through it but then realized using felt pens would be so much handier and faster. So, I took some brush-tip markers and chose a fun, vibrant colors to be used in the background. I colored each slot and then added some splashes on top. For those I colored on top of a piece of plastic with the water-based marker and then used a wet brush to splash the color. This is the same way I used in the first November Trio card (link). 

Another element this card has in common with the ones I shared last week in the Trio is the sentiment stamps. These are by Heidin Korttipaja as well. The two words read "Have a crazy birthday!". For the focal point I used a Carabelle Studio stamp and to give the owl a birthday look, I made a little party hat for him.

Nevermore Poe - a set of ATCs

"-- Then the bird said 'Nevermore.'" If you have followed my blog for a time, you surely know by now that I love ravens and crows. There's something captivating about these monochrome birds. So, when I saw the new Carabelle Studio collection had a set with two such birds, I needed to make an order. These ATCs, inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's poem, are my first go with them.

In the poem the raven keeps repeating "Nevermore", so I cut the word into to and divided it to my two cards. Now the other card is "Never" and the other "More". Changes the meaning quite a lot, doesn't it?

To keep with the eerie, Halloween styled atmosphere I used the new Ranger Distress color "Villainous Potion" in these. The background is inked using the Distress Ink and the darker sun ray styled pattern on top is done using the embossing glaze. The ravens are colored using watercolor pens and white and golden markings are made using a Posca paint marker.

Live a colorful life - a journal page

Moikka moi and happy Tuesday! Not so long ago Carabelle Studio released some new stamps and among them were gorgeous sets by Birgit Koopsen. I just had to order them! Here's the first make with some play time using my new purchased goodies. 

I made the backgroun to this page by painting with fingers. I squeezed some acrylics to my page and then mixed them. After drying that layer I then added some oil pastels in there, just scribbling and making areas of color. On top I then added two more layers before adding the focal point - first with a black watercolor pencil and then with a stencil and white gesso. The focal point on top is done stamping the leaf design on top of tissue paper and then adhering it to the background.

Along the stamp sets, I also ordered a new stencil (link). This one is called "Jeu d'ombrelles" by Azoline. It caught my eye because of the whimsical design that fits most projects - circular designs are so handy. The stamp set I used here is called "Colorful Life" (link), but I also ordered "Rainbow is my favorite color" (link).

Yummy! - GDT Carabelle Studio

I've been sharing my last three pages for Carabelle Studio along the last days. All of the three were shown at Carabelles's blog some time ago (link) and this is the last one of the three I share here in my blog, too. 

For this layout I tried to create a sense of celebration and party. It's about waffles my younger daughter and me went to eat while the big sister was at a birthday party. The background has some mixed media touches with stamps and stencil. The roses in the opposite corners are die cut with a Carabelle die. The main embellishment is a stamped girl with butterfly wings holding balloons. The balloons are done using the Azoline flower stamp and then cut into shape.

Friends - GDT Carabelle Studio

Hello hello! Here's another page I made for Carabelle Studio as their guest. It was shared along with two other pages some time ago (link). This one is all about friends! Happy colors, many favorite products and two lovely ladies in the photo! 

The background is done using acrylic paint and a stencil. I also added some stamping on top of the paint. The embellishments include some stamped items like the leaves. I used several sets by Birgit Koopsen in the page as I thought they would be very appropriate as she's the one on the left in the photo!

Perfect Moment to Fly - GDT Carabelle Studio

Hi there! How are you on this fine day? Today I'm keeping a workshop at Kokkola - something I enjoy tremendously! This layout is actually connected to a workshop, too. The picture in the page is taken while I was heading to Stockholm to keep workshops there! 

The layout talks about how it's wonderful to take the evening flight and see the glistering, glimmering city of lights. Such a beautiful site! The layout is done as a guest to Carabelle Studio. It was shared along with two other pages on a post some time ago (link).

I used several different Carabelle stamps while making the page and used a mask to do the background. The turquoise and white details are done using embossing powders and the black details are stamped. I also made my own patterned paper and tag using the stamps.

Hello and happy Friday! Do you have plans for the weekend? I'm working tomorrow, but Sunday is planned to be a creative day! Yay!

This page is created for Carabelle Studio as their guest designer. Here's a link to the original post in the company blog (link).

This page got its inspiration from the text in the “Believe in Magic by Zorrotte” set. I used the text in the background of my photo and also made it a part of my title. I also used the leaf stamps from the “Dans l’univers de la feuille by Zorrotte” in my background and stamped a couple as embellishments also.

The leaves in the background are stamped with water soluble crayons first coloring the stamp, spraying some water to it and then pressing the stamp to the paper. The embellishment leaves are stamped with Archival Ink and colored with watercolors. The roses behind the photo are done with similar technique using the rose stamps from the “There are always flowers by Birgit Koopsen” set. I also used a couple strips of the patterned paper I did for the ATCs (link) in the page.
