Hi there and welcome! Today I have the second video of December! There's also something special about this one - it's my last team project for Paper Garden. I'm stepping down from the team at the end of the year. But hopefully I'll go out with a bang and you like the project and the video!
If you want to see how I made the spread, please see the process video underneath.
Like I say in the video, my inspiration for the piece came from the picture I then used as the focal point. It then helped to choose other elements, colors and add those "tea rings" to the background! You never know what inspires you and where it leads.
Thank you for stopping by today! Have a great Friday and weekend! And remember the live tomorrow!
Moikka moi! It's Friday today and that means a new process video! This time it's some Paper Garden goodies in action and I'm making some winter cards with them!
As you can see from the video below, I mix different printables in these cards. I also use mediums to add some interest to the background, but the main point of the cards are the little skiers. I received them some years ago from a friend, who knew my love for vintage photos. The little skier in the photos is actually her husband and they are cut from invitations to celebrate his birthday! I still have some left and will eventually turn them to projects as well. I really, really love the look of the determined little boy!
I hope you liked the video! If you did, please consider subscribing my YouTube channel and hit that bell sign to be notified when a new video comes live - that should be each Friday with some exceptions!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a great weekend! Remember to participate to the giveaway on my Instagram!
From autumn to winter - like in a cartoon! Well, there was one day between these posts. But hey, hey, it's Friday and a process video time! As you can see from the picture above and the title, this time it's some winter cards with Paper Garden supplies.
While the texts in the cards bring these to Christmas, I didn't want to call them Christmas cards. Why? Because just by leaving the text out or changing it, these could be a winter wish or a Holiday greeting of other sort. If you want to see how I made the cards, please see the video underneath.
It was fun doing the other card vertical and other horizontal. As you could see, I used similar elements in both, just chose a different focal point to each to match the orientation of the card.
I'm not sure if you have noticed, but I'm doing things a bit differently this month. Some of the videos are with texts and music, some with less text and a voice over. Please tell me how this works for you and which one you prefer!
Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a lovely Friday and beautiful weekend!
Welcome, foolish mortals, to see my first September post! ...I guess that doesn't sound quite haunting when you read it. So please imagine it with creaking hinges, eerie music and some mist and cobwebs as this is my first Halloween make this year!
If someone made me choose between black and white gesso, I honestly don't know which I'd choose. I guess the practical side of me would go with the white one, but the goth side would insist on black. I mean clear gesso would be the safest bet, but if it was just white and black, that would be hard. There's a point in the rambling about gesso which connects to this piece and that's the goth side. While I make flowery, even romantic cards, I also make eerie projects with skulls. The goth side pops up especially when I use darker colors or when it's Halloween.
For this card I rummaged through my Paper Garden stash and chose elements that would go with the theme. You can see how I made the card from the process video below.
I found all sorts of lovely elements for the card from the Paper Garden supplies, but missed a focal point. For that I chose this raven and cage stamp I have had in my stash for quite a while. If you've been following me for a while, you should know that anything crow or raven related - yes please, I'll have one. In conjunction with Halloween, the raven always makes me think about Poe: "Quoth the raven, Nevermore". In this case he doesn't say nevermore, though, but instead the sentiment is from Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream: "Lord, what fools these mortals be!".
Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a pleasant start on September, a nice Friday and great, hopefully sunny weekend!
Heippa hei, it's again Friday and time for a process video! This time I made some ATCs using Paper Garden supplies.
When I tried to decide what to do this time, I was a bit in the autumn mood already. August is in Finnish "elokuu", which refers to harvest. While writing this, though, the weather is really summery, sunny and warm. But the nights already have a golden glow and the sun sets earlier, so we are definitely heading towards autumn and winter.
If you want to see how I made this set and how they got their name in the last little details, please see the process video underneath.
As you can see from the title, I call these cards "Dreamers in the field". The last refers to those little dried hays that I included to the cards.
Like always, these cards are free to travel to a new home. Please let me know if you'd like to swap or receive one.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Wishing you a great Friday and a nice weekend!
Ps. Please remember the Facebook live tonight! More info about that in the previous post.
