Holiday Cheer - Finnabair Brand Ambassador

It's the season of gifts and giving! Well, that should always be the time, but it seems that Christmas is the height of that season. So for a December Facebook live I went with a decorated gift box! I'm recreating this piece this coming Saturday, December 3rd at 7 pm CET. Hope you can join me!

During this live I'll make my own snow paste using two components but I also use "Unicorn" effect paste to add a little bit of icy shine. I also use a tool that I don't normally use in that purpose! Can you guess what that is?

If you want to craft along side me or just to check the materials, the list of them is underneath the next photo. Links go to Mixed Media Place, Finnabair's own store.

Thank you for stopping by today! Hopefully I'll see you on Saturday!

Poetic Rose note book

Today it's last "oldie from the drafts"! It's a little make, a little notebook decorated using Poetic Rose. Back when I made the notebook, it was a new collection as I think this is a show sample, but nowadays there's been a lot of collections published after this.

Something like this is relatively easy to create - just a piece of patterned paper, some watercolor, a little bit of stamping, a length of ribbon and some flowers. But those little hand made details surely make an impact! A little notebook like this would make a wonderful gift, too.

Thank you for stopping by today! Tomorrow I have something more fresh for you!

Magic of Sundays - Prima Marketing

I guess you know what this post is? An oldie from the drafts - kind of post! It's been a while since I was  a Prima design team member and I think this piece is done for a craft show to highlight then a new collection Poetic Rose.

The layout celebrates the magic of Sundays. Those are a guarantee day off for me as I sometimes work on Saturdays, too. So that usually means laid back mornings and slow starts to the day. It also might mean a crafty kind of day, depending on the deadlines and what else we have planned for the day. The layout itself is quite a basic in its mixed media style. My "go to" kind of design.

There's not that many "oldies" in the drafts anymore. That makes me both happy and sad. Happy that they are finally blogged and sad as that kind of means an end to an era.

Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a magical day (even if it's not Sunday yet)!

Poetic Rose door sign

Hiya! Today it's throwback Tuesday as I'm bringing again another "oldie but goodie" from the drafts. This time it's a door sign from back when I was a member of the Prima Marketing design team. I think this was made as a show sample for then the new collection, Poetic Rose.

The base is a wooden door sign and I collaged some Poetic Rose elements on top. I mixed some Memory Hardware and Finnabair goodies in there as well as well as Finnabair mediums.

Thank you for stopping by today! Tomorrow is the third Wednesday of the month and you know what that means? It's time for Seth Trio!

This place - Prima Marketing

Sweet Thursday! Today I'm sharing an oldie with you. If you follow Prima Marketing, you know that by now "Capri" is an older collection. The other clue that this one is an older project is the designer strip there - this piece is done when I was a part of the Prima design team.

The problem, so to say, with show projects is that I usually made quite a few of those and then it takes a lot of time to add them to my blog as there's other projects that need to be shared as well. So, usually I end up with blogging project quite a time afterwards. Underneath is a little bit of text I wrote for the project back in the day when sending the photos in for Prima.

“Capri” is a perfect combination of beachy blues and beautiful blooms! In this wooden piece I started by creating a blue background, inspired by the waves and sea. I used Impasto paint “Mediterranean” mixed with Liquid acrylic “Ultramarine” to get a wonderful, sea-like coloring to the background. I also used some white Heavy gesso to add splashes – like foam splashes from the waves!

On top I then layered some cut out blooms from the collection, beautiful Prima roses and even a photo from the collection. Some crystals from the collection and Finnabair range add a touch of glimmer.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Quick cards - Prima Marketing

Hi there and sweet Thursday! Don't get confused about the banners in these photos as this is an oldie I just found in my drafts! But thought to blog these anyway as this might be the time you need quick cards!

Prima blooms are so wonderful for quick cards! A few pieces of patterned papers, splash of media and then some beautiful Prima blooms and you have a ready card in no time! To these cards I used a box flower set but mixed in one bloom from the Holiday collection “Christmas in the Country”. To further have the Christmas theme to them I added a couple of stickers from the puffy sticker set from the same collection. The red pearls from the Memory Hardware set I added to the cards resemble holly berries! The Paper Paste creates a snowy effect together with some white glitter.

Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a pleasant day!

Dark chest of wonders - Facebook Live announcement

Moikka! As the title says - today I have a Facebook live announcement for you! The live is happening next week, on Tuesday, November 10th at a Facebook group called "Crafting together with all brands" (link). The topic is, broadly said, mixed media. I'll recreate a wooden box like the one on top during the live, but I'll also play with Seth Apter's products and Finnabair mediums and make embellishments using moulds.

Let's say I'm not re-inventing the wheel, but will show some fun techniques, my go-to tricks and well, having fun with different products! In case you want to create along side me, I've listed materials below the new photo. Some of the materials are linked - they are not affiliate links, just added them for your (possible) convenience, if you want to learn more. Finnabair products are linked to her store, Mixed Media Place where as Seth Apter products are linked to his own store.

So, hope to see you on Tuesday! Thank you for stopping by today!

Be in the moment - Prima Marketing Facebook live

Moikka and sweet Monday! It's last day of August so I just made it in time to share this project I made durind a Facebook live in the same month as the live was! It's also my last live project as a Prima Marketing design team member. You can see more photos and the materials list in the announcement post (link).

As you can see from the recording above, I had my share of difficulties during the live. I should have re-made the white version, not the black! But I got it done and hopefully you can make out the process even though the focus is off quite a bit.

Underneath is a photo of all the three projects with the same techniques. The only difference between the blacks and the white one is the color scheme - using white gesso instead of black and tea tones instead of blues.

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a pleasant start to the new week.

Apricot Honey ATC - Prima Marketing

Moikka! Today I'm sharing my last design team project for Prima Marketing. Such a strange feeling!

I wanted something nice for my last design team project for Prima Marketing. I was thinking how to give something back, so I decided to do a set of ATCs using pretty “Apricot Honey” and give the cards away.

I’ve used different elements from the 12x12 pad to make these. As these are from a “Throwback” feature, besides using an older collection, I also used older stamps and Micro Beads from the very first Finnabair medium release!

If you’d like to receive one, please mail me at rkovasin(a)gmail.com. Substitute the (a) with @.

Thank you for stopping by today!
