Kässäfestarit - an event

Moikka moi! This post is mainly in Finnish as it's about an event in the end of this month here in Finland. I'm demoing there and making art journal pages. This is an example page I made, but I'm thinking of going with the flow and maybe even following requests of the event goers. 

Heippa! Otetaas taas postausta ihan suomeksi, sillä minulla on ilo kertoa, että olen demoilemassa kuun lopussa Kässäfestareilla Merikaapelihallissa. Festarit ovat avoinna perjantaina 27. ja lauantaina 28.5. klo 11-18. Arttisivuja tai aukeamia olisi tarkoitus tuolloin tehdä ja demoilla. 

Tein tällaisen uuden arttiaukeaman malliksi, mitä voisin tehdä. Mutta pääasiassa ajatus olisi tehdä vähän fiiliksen mukaan ja kuunnella toiveitakin! Jos nyt jo ennen festareita tiedät, että olet tulossa ja haluaisit jotain tiettyä mediumia minun käyttävän ja näyttävän niin otahan yhteyttä! Katsotaan, mitä pystyn järjestämään! 

Otan festareille mukaan myös ison kasan ATC-kortteja, joita vaihtelen mielelläni tai jollaisen voi käydä paikaltani nappaamassa uuteen kotiin! Ja mikäli pöytätila riittää, mukaan tulee myös jotakin kolmiulotteista projektia näytille.

Flowery tags - Prima Marketing / CreativeWorld demo

Moikka! Yesterday I shared a bigger piece I did for my demo. I'm not actually working on such a big scale in Frankfurt, though, but instead my goal is to make tags. Here's a couple of examples! 

The base for both tags is a chipboard tag. They both are painted using gesso - white for white and black for black. On top there's some stenciling, the transfer and then a cluster of embellishments some of which are made using reDesign moulds! So, you don't always have to go big with these product, they are also perfect for cards, canvases or layouts! 

As you can see, the transfers work beautifully both on white and black surface. The mood is totally different, though. Which one is your favorite, the white or the black?

Blooming clipboard - Prima Marketing / CreativeWorld demo

Hi there! In a few days I'll head to CreativeWord in Frankfurt! I'm so excited to meet friends, mingle and demo in there! I'm demoing from Saturday to Monday at Prima Marketing and Notions booths. So, if you are attending, please come and say hi! Prima's booth is on hall 4.2, place C66 and Notions is located one floor down, on hall 4.1, place K57.

What I'm demoing then, you ask. I'm working with reDesign products and mixing them with some Finnabair items. I made this clipboard as a sample. Even though reDesign is made to fit home decor, you don't always have to use it to dress up a bureau or a wall, the reDesign transfers work beautifully on a smaller scale, too. I decorated this clip board using an abundance of flowers from the “Floral collection” transfer. I transferred some of the flowers to the board itself, but added some on top of black cardstock, too and layered them using foam dots. To make the piece even more mixed media, I used Stick and Style stencil to make two layers to the background, one with wax and other with glitter.

Blooming branch - a painting

This coming weekend is Suomen Kädentaidot event in Tampere, Finland. It's the biggest craft and design event in Finland with over 700 exhibitors displaying their selection. You can read more about the event here (link). 

I've been demoing in the event previously. Last year was my first year with Sinelli and this year I'm at their stand again. This time I'm showing a technique you can use to turn EVA foam into dimensional flowers. I also use it to make stamps and probably try gel printing as well! 

So, if you happen to be in Tampere next Friday to Sunday, please attend the event and stop by the Sinelli booth to say hi! The stand is C 801.

Moikka ja kiitos kun poikkesit blogiini tänään! Tänään bloggaan tällaisen taulun, jonka tein tulevaa demoa varten Suomen Kädentaidot -tapahtumassa. Tapahtuma on tulevana viikonloppuna Tampereella. Olen ollut messuilla demoilemassa aika monena vuonna. Viime vuonna olin ensimmäistä kertaa Sinellin ständillä ja siellä tänäkin vuonna. Toivottavasti viime vuosi ei toistu sikäli että ääni lähtee! Tällä kertaa leikin softislevyn kanssa ja teen siitä kukkia ja leimasimia ja varmaan vähän jotain muutakin tulee touhuttua.

Eli, jos siis olet tämän viikon perjantaina, lauantaina tai sunnuntaina Tampereella, tervetuloa osallistumaan messuille ja moikkamaan! Tai vaikka kyselemään, miten tämä taulu on tehty! Ajattelin tehdä tästä toisintoa pienemmässä mittakaavassa. Sinellin paikka on C-hallissa, 801.

A flurry of cards

Hi and happy Friday! Here's a flurry of cards I'm demoing tomorrow in a local craft store using their selection of materials. There's some easy ones, some a bit more difficult and some using materials that are maybe not so familiar to the people coming to the shop.

Valentine's Day cards demo

Moikka! This upcoming Saturday I'm demoing some mixed media Valentine cards at Sinelli in Varisto, Vantaa. As the demo will be mainly in Finnish, I'll write most of this post in Finnish as well. But if you happen to be around Vantaa during Saturday, it would be awesome to see you there! The Valentine's Day event will be from 10 am until 3 pm. Otetaanpas siis uusiksi ihan suomeksi! Tulevana lauantaina olen Variston Sinellissä tekemässä tällaisia sekatekniikkaystävänpäiväkortteja (mikä sana!). Nämä kortit on tehty parilla hauskalla tekniikalla, joilla koetan innostaa kokeilemaan materiaalien kanssa ja etsimään sitä omaa juttua. 

Ottanen mukaan myös joitakin vanhoja töitä ja kaikesta saa kysellä, liittyi sitten näihin kortteihin tai johonkin ihan muuhun! Paikan päällä Martinkyläntie 63:ssa on myös kaikkea muuta mukavaa kuten korttipaja, joten tervetuloa tutustumaan! Lisäinfoa tapahtumasta löytyy täältä (linkki).

Suomen Kädentaidot - here I come!

Moikka moi! Pian messuillaan! This post is about an event here in Finland I'm attending over the weekend, so I'll blog it in Finnish. In this post there's a sample I have with me at Suomen Kädentaidot and I'm demoing mixed media there. So if you happen to be at Tampere are this weekend - please come and say hi! Suomen Kädentaidot alkaa parin päivän päästä ja siellä minäkin! Olethan sinäkin tulossa? Lisätietoja tapahtumasta löytyy täältä (linkki).

Tällä kertaa en olekaan Klemmarikellarin pisteellä kuten aiempina vuosina vaan minut löytää Sinellin jätti-isolta osastolta, jossa esittelen sekatekniikkaa. Olen messuilemassa Sinellin osastolla koko ajan perjantaista sunnuntaihin ja pääosin siis touhuamassa jotakin yläkuvan mukaista kanvastriptyykkiä. Kollaasia, akryylimaaleja ja kuumaliimaa muutamalla erilaisella tavalla on ainakin tarkoitus näyttää ja kuulemani mukaan osastolla tulee olemaan hyviä tarjouksia! Osasto on C-hallissa 801.
