Spring is nearly here and Easter is a month away! So there's still plenty of time to craft for Easter Egg Hunt. We don't have the same tradition so strongly here in Finland, but each year at a local Easter market the kids have a change to take part in an egg hunt. So I guess it's growing to us Finns, too. With that in mind, I created little baskets and medals for the hunt.
The little baskets are made with a strip of Canvas Corp scrapbooking paper and embellished with a piece of burlap, a tiny peg and a stamped greeting plus a chipboard disc. Inside the baskets are the eggs, of course, but also a piece of tissue paper and some threads frayed from the burlap.
What you need for the basket is a strip of patterned, sturdy paper sized 6 x 21 cm (2½" x 8½"). You also need two rectangles sized 5 x 5 cm (2" x 2") and one long strip sized 2 x 30,5 cm (1" x 12"). You then need to create creases to the biggest piece: one crease at 1 cm (½") from the edge length wise and then height wise at every 5 cm (2"). Then cut slits to the 1 cm (½") part from the edge upwards in every crease line. Now you have the side piece prepared and it's time to assemble the basket. Attach double-sided tape to the flaps and turn the piece into a ring, attaching the flap underneath the other end of the strip. Then turn the 1 cm (½") flaps at the bottom of the piece inwards and adhere the other rectangle piece in place to form the bottom of the basket. Slip the other piece inside the basket to hide the flaps. Lastly adhere the slim strip to the basket as the handle: attach 5 cm (2") pieces of double sided tape to the ends of the piece and then attach it to the center of opposite sides inside the basket.
The medals are done by adhering a Canvas Corp burlap flower to two pieces of patterned papers and then embellished with a diecut shape from 7Gypsies and a little bunny chipboard from 3rd Eye. All the chipboard shapes are painted with glimmering Tattered Angels paints, by the way.

Kevät keikkuen tulevi ja pääsiäinenkin on kuukauden päästä! On siis hyvä aika miettiä pääsiäisaskarteluja. Minä tein pari pikkukoria ja mitalit Canvas Corpille. Suomessa tuo "Ester Egg Hunt" ei ole ainakaan vielä niin vahvasti esillä, vaikka lähimyyjäisissä lapset aina pääsevätkin osallistumaan munien etsintään.
Pienet korit on tehty Canvas Corpin kuviopapereista. Koristeina niissä on hieman kirkkaan väristä säkkikangasta, pieni pyykkipoika sekä leimailtu toivotus ja pieni chipboardtagi. Korien sisällä on munien lisäksi palanen silkkipaperia sekä säkkikankaasta purettua lankaa.
Koriin tarvitset palasen kuvioitua, vahvaa kartonkia. Palan koko on 6 x 21 cm. Tarvitset myös kaksi 5 x 5 cm neliötä sekä yhden ohuen suikaleen 2x30,5 cm. Nuuttaa suurimman palan toinen reuna pitkittäin sentin etäisyydeltä. Tee sen jälkeen nuuttaukset palan pituussuunnassa 5 cm:n välein. Leikkaa sitten viillot sentin nuuttausreunasta ylöspäin jokaisen pystynuuttauksen kohdalta. Korin sivupala on nyt valmis ja on aika koota kori. Kiinnitä kaksipuoleista teippiä jokaiseen läppään. Käännä palanen renkaaksi ja kiinnitä päätyläppä toisen päädyn alle. Sitten käännä kaikki loput sentin läpät sisään päin ja liitä toinen neliöpala paikoilleen korin pohjaksi. Sujauta toinen pala korin sisään piilottamaan läpät sisäpuolelta. Lopuksi liitä kapea suikale korin sangaksi: lisää kappaleen päihin 5 cm:n pituiset palat kaksipuolista teippiä ja kiinnitä kahva paikoilleen keskelle vastakkaisia reunoja korin sisäpuolelle.
Mitalit on tehty Canvas Corpin säkkikangaskukista ja kahdesta palasta kuviopaperia. Koristeena on 7Gypsiesin pieni piparireunainen ympyrä sekä 3rd Eyen pupu-chipboardit. Kaikki chipboard kuviot on muuten käsitelty Tattered Angels maaleilla.
