I'm in a hurry - an art journal spread

Moikka moi and happy new week! Vibrant start for the week with this art journal spread! ...and I know it's already Tuesday but it's the first post of the week.

This spread is one of those "quick and easy" ones meaning I used bits and pieces I already had in my stash. Whenever I make a background self, I usually save the left over pieces. There's several of those in this spread. Like the kiwi green one with the circles, that's something I made for some cards a time ago (link). Or the teal and turquoise colored squares with house prints, they are from this other art journal spread (link). I've gotten better at throwing tiny pieces to the bin or recycling, but I still save quite a lot. But they come in handy, when I'm quickly wanting to throw something together and be done with.

I didn't use just self-made scraps here but added some patterned papers in the mix, too and then combined the two with touches of mixed media. I kept the color scheme as the connecting thing - I chose either black and white or papers with blue and green for this one. The focal point is a Tim Holtz paper doll.

As I used clocks and timekeepers as the embellishments, I wanted something time-related as the journaling. This snarky comment from a sticker pack seemed to do the trick - "I'd love to talk, but I'm in a hurry to get home so I can be alone". I guess most of us might feel like that every now and then after a work day!

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a great and colorful (in a good sense) week!
