Hi there and happy Sunday! A few days ago my post with the new ScrapFX chipboards went live in the company blog (link). This time the collection is all about music!
When thinking about the title to the original post I tried to see what the pages had in common. The color scheme is different and even though they both are my mixed media influenced style, what they have in common is the topic. The other one is about my all time favorite band, Turisas, and the other about one of my favorite singers, Dio. So I titled the post "influential masters" meaning how music is really powerful and how these two are really inspirational and kind of key points in my musical taste.

The other one is about my all time favorite band, Turisas, and the other about one of my favorite singers, Dio. So I titled the post "influential masters" meaning how music is really powerful and how these two are really inspirational and kind of key points in my musical taste.
Today I'm sharing the first page. The topic of it is Turisas. I think I have introduced them many times here already, but still, let me mention that they are a Finnish heavy metal band with Viking influences. Their stage attire or rather stage make-up is in black and red so it was really a no brainer to come up with the color scheme for the page. The band shows in two aspects of the page still - the lyrics of one of the songs circle around the sides of the layout and in the photo I have a concert ticket in my hand, bought that on the first day they came to sale.
I started the page by stamping the "Music Collage" to the background with red acrylic paint. Then I added some black and pink mist on top and let them pool. The red flicks were done with acrylic paint. After drying I then stamped with black ink the "Circle and Lines" pattern and also added some random misted details using the "Grunge" stencil.
In the layers behind the photo I used very little paper and concentrated more to different chippies. The heart one I embossed with silver powder. The "Musical Symbol Collage" ones I colored black with black felt pen and painted the "Musical Heart" and the "Soundwave" read using acrylic paint.
I finished the page with some red and black paint touches around the layers, some white doodled dots and also the journaling.
Thank you for stopping by today! Please come back tomorrow to see the other page, inspired by Dio!

Riikka - so very gorgeous - and I love that your fav music is shining through. Even though I am not much of a metal fan - I can relate to a love of all genres of music. Your photo with the ticket is lovely and I love, love the page - it is wonderful!
