Happy Family layout with steps

Hello everybody! Sun is shining and I'm keeping busy with several scrapbooking projects. Here's one page created just for the blog! I also shot the steps while making the page.

The page is based on that photo of the family. I simply love it, for it's not a perfect portrait - 4-year-old is having a giggle attack and two-year-old is eating her fingers. I'm just kissing my daughter on the head and my husband is explaining something. Love the happy, real-life feel of the photo!

By the way, have you already signed up for the VIP account at Everyday Storytellers? By signing you'll get an idea sheet of everyday memorykeeping as well as have access to all sorts of giveaways! And there's a big sale comming in the Simple Scrapper shop on the 18th! You can then get the Everyday Storyteller vol.1 for a great price!

But let's go to the steps!

First I added some masking tape to the backgroung to create texture. Later on my plan changed completely and I think not a single piece is visible on the finished page. But hey, you'll need to see where the process takes you.

Then I diecut some border strips and attached them to the background with gesso.

Next step was to get messy with Tattered Angel's mists! I used several colors and created several layers of mists. I also kept some parts of the background unmisted, so that the gesso brings light to the page.

I drew a random circular shape to the background with a pencil. Then I added paperlayers, washitape and some stamping.

Title time! I used two different alphas for the title.

And finally added a few embellishments and some black splashes. I also wrote the journaling to the bottom left corner, under the title.

Materials: 7 Dots Studio, Sizzix, Tattered Angels, Talens (Tempera), MT Masking Tape (Teippitarha), Wycinanka, 3rd Eye, American Crafts, Ranger, Freckled Fawn, BadgesFolie, Studio Calico, Echo Park

Kaunis sivu.
