Moikka! It's Friday and that means a video for you! I'm not sure if you have noticed, but I try to post a video each Friday to my YouTube. Or sometimes the video gets posted earlier in the week, if it's for a certain post or a team, but still, I try to add a new video each week.
This week I have an art journal page for you. It started the way many of my pages start, just splashing some paint down without bigger idea what layers I wanted to create and then going from there. I layered some paint, collaging and stenciling together.
I had an urge to draw or paint a person again as it's been a while since I did one. So I sketched a lady on top. When thinking about the colors to use to color her, I thought about contrast and chose an orange for the hair. Then Olavi Virta's "Punatukkaiselle tytölleni" - "For my Read Head Girl" started playing in my head. Actually it was a tango version of the song, but still. That's why I titled the page with the name of the song.
I wanted to try out how acrylic paints and watercolor pencil go together. I just loved how easy it was to do shadows this way! The pencil reacted wonderfully with the paint, creating instant shadow and varying layer of color. Really easy to imitate dimension this way.
I hope you liked the video! Thank you for stopping by today! Have a wonderful weekend!
