Adventure - an altered pony

Hi there and sparkly Tuesday! Today I'm sharing a little pony I altered to be given to a friend. My two daughters were going through their toys and putting stuff to a pile to be taken to a flea market. This pony was on that pile so I grabbed it to my "alter these" drawer. While I was rummaging through it some time ago, I happened to find her again so to say and thought to make something of her.

The friend in question chose the colors (well, she did say turquoise and pale blue...) and I added some gold to highlight the textures. The creature turned a bit darker than I was going for, but now she resembles a night sky!

The pony is first lightly sanded and then painted with black gesso. On top I added little bibs an bobs from Finnabair Mechanicals and my stash. After another coat of black gesso came the fun part of coloring! I used different Metallique and Sparks paints to color her. I used "Metallique Midnight Sky", "Metallique Ice Queen" and "Sparks Night Shadow". Her mane is done out of natural cord and eyes our of crystals.

This was a fun project to do! I hope the receiver also likes it! Now I only need to find a box to fit the pony - and perhaps decorate that, too...

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a sparkly day!
