Brush jar - Finnabair Creative Team

Happy Monday everyone! How was your weekend? I kept a workshop on Saturday and then crafted the Sunday away, so quite a splendid one in my end!

Today I'm sharing this altered can I did for the Finnabair team post over at Prima's blog (link). It's Linda and me using the same "recipe" - Black gesso + Clear Crackle + Mica. You really need to see the original post as Linda has step-by-step photos and instructions for her awesome canvas!

But maybe a few words about my own project? First I need to tell you, that it was a love at first sight when I first dipped my fingers to white gesso. That really opened a whole new world to me, little by little. But now that first, initial love has a competitor, the black gesso! It really shows off the Mica and shine in them and naturally creates a completely different mood to the whole project.

For this recipe I created a jar to hold my brushes. The base is just an ordinary tin can, but with the help of some Prima it turned into a piece that can be the center of the stage. I used the Crackle Paste as the last layer and it created a lovely shabby ad weathered look to the piece.

Thank you for stopping by today!

PS. Hope to see you online in a few hours! It's my day at Artists Live show! More info here (link)
