Chirp - Canvas Corp Brands

Chirp chirp! Today I share a little bird canvas I did for Canvas Corp Brands and was shown in CHA this spring. It was featured on their baby section in the booth with yummy pastel style colors. The canvas has been previously shown in Canvas Corp's own blog, here (link).

When a little bird tells that there’s someone new in the family a gift is in order. But what to give? There’s different traditions around the globe but what we have gotten for both of our girls is art. And I simply love the idea! In fact I loved it so much that nowadays we also give that as a baby gift. Something small that has a topic that fits the occasion and what the child all grown up can take to his or her first home.

The idea of a piece that can be given to a baby was my lead when starting this piece. Maybe this doesn’t go to my category “can be taken to the first home” in all cases, but maybe changing the style a little it would go nicely to a college dorm room, too?

This canvas is really easy to do! Just adhere some pieces of book pages to a canvas and then color the piece using mists. Make the grass using a Glaze just brushing a few strokes upwards. Then add two rosettes for the flowers and a big circle as the body of the bird. Add a smaller circle to the eye of the bird and a teardrop shaped piece as the wing. Two little triangles make up the beak of the bird. Then add a few pegs as leaves to the blooms and a half of the scalloped tag as the cloud. Finish the piece with doodling. Little birdie is ready in no time!

Thank you for your visit! Wishing you all the best!

PS. Tattered Angels is introducing weekly palettes and the palette we're using now is the one for spring and babies with green. yellow, pink, blue and light grey. See the Facebook page for more info and inspiration!

This is just too cute and I love how you used the little pegs for leaves. So clever... such a different and whimsical style for you and I love it.
