Happy weekend! Yesterday my post went live in Mixed Media Place's blog. For the first project of 2015 I wanted to do something colorful and I wanted it to be a layout. The last months of last year I did many altered projects or other mixed media works but I feel I'm mostly a scrapbooker so I better let it show, too.
I started recording the lives of my two daughters via scrapbooking but recently I have been doing more and more pages about myself or something more abstract. This page goes to that category - the title of the page is "4 Art". The journaling talks about how making these crafts is my own time, it's a stress-reliever and a battery-charger. Creating keeps me going.
The photo on the page was taken during a workshop held by Alexis Toupet last spring in Paris event called Version Scrap. I also mention how this hobby is also a perfect reason (or an excuse) to travel - I love taking classes and learning new things.
I started the page by adding some patterned papers from 7 Dots Studio to the background and then I layered the photo and the embellishments on top. I added some stamping and a few touches of ink through a stencil. But what I really wanted to incorporate to the page was paint from the Silks line so I added it onto the embellishments and also "framed" them with some shimmering paint. To add a touch more sparkle to the page, I used the lovely blue glitters from Finnabair's Art Ingredients line. Lastly, I took out the white Sharpie and doodled on top of the paint layer.
Thank you for your visit today! Keep on creating!
