Hi there and happy Father's Day! Yes, it's Father's Day here in Finland today, we celebrate it in November. But today's post is about a craft more of the wintery kind. These two mixed media trees are made for Jennifer Grace's blog event "Frosty Festivities". Here's the link to the original post and here's another for the first post of the series (link).
In the event there's tutorials and projects of different kinds but also giveaways. But you must move hastily for those as they are only open until Monday 10th of November! But there's also two other prizes to be won and that's via linking a project inspired by the event to the linky tool! Find more info here (link)!
I created two snowy mixed media trees for my guest post. I was so happy that Jennifer asked me to join! She actually sent me some of her "Happy Scratter" items, but unfortunately they got lost in the mail. So I needed to do something different instead. So I chose to go mixed media and 3 D.
Using various different mediums and styrofoam cones I created two trees. You can use the same techniques and ideas to make a snowy canvas, too. And the best part in these is that you can use any object as long it has a lovely shape! These trees hold broken jewellery, bottle caps, found objects and sewing supplies to name a few.
If you wish to create something similar, I created a tutorial video for you showing how I made the trees. If you make something inspired by this post, I would love to see your art! Please leave a link here or then send me exploring your blog by mailing me the link!
I want to thank you for stopping by today and visiting my blog! I encourage you to see all the blog event posts as there's plenty to choose from! Have a wonderful day!
