Easy like 1 - 2 - 3 - 7 Dots Studio

Hello there! Have you seen the latest challenge in 7 Dots Studio? It's about geometrical shapes. Here's my DT page to the challenge. 

I was really inspired by a tutorial by Czekoczyna at Pop and Colors #1. I made some colorful circles to the background and used the same color scheme in the paper layers also. The topic of the page is creative play and how it is (or should be) easy like 1-2-3 to let go and just play with different mediums and shapes.

Heippa hei! Oletteko jo huomanneet viimeisimmän haasteen 7 Dots Studion blogissa? Aiheena ovat geometriset muodot. Tässä on oma sivuni haasteeseen. 

Inspiroiduin kovin Czekoczynan tutoriaalista Pop and Colors #1 -kurssilla. Tein taustaan värikkäitä ympyröitä ja käytin samaa värimaailmaa myös paperikerroksissa. Sivun aiheena on se miten luova leikki on (tai pitäisi olla) helppoa kuin 1-2-3: sen kun vaan antaa mennä ja leikkii eri väreillä ja muodoilla.

Princess - 3rd Eye i Studio 75 week

Hello! It's Thursday already! Soon it's weekend and also the month changes. I still have a few DT projects to share from January and here's the other of them. This layout was created for the 3rd Eye and Studio 75 week.

I sewed a princess dress for my younger daughter when she turned three. Her big sister got one for her birthday too at the same age, so it was a kind of tradition. The blueish color scheme in the Rosalie collection was perfect for this layout as the dress is turquoise, her favorite color.

I used gesso and watercolors for the background. I stenciled a subtle star pattern here and there using 3rd Eye stencil. For decorations I created my own resist canvas butterflies using a butterfly stamp by 3rd Eye and the canvas by Studio 75.

Hei! Se on jo torstai! Pian on viikonloppu ja myös kuu vaihtuu samalla. Minulla on vielä muutama DT työ jakamatta ja tässä on niistä toinen. Tämän sivun tein 3rd Eyen ja Studio 75:n yhteiselle viikolle. 

Ompelin nuoremmalle tyttärelleni syntymäpäivälahjaksi prinsessamekon hänen täyttäessään kolme. Isosiskonsa sai oman mekkonsa samassa iässä, joten kyseessä oli hieman perinne. Rosalie-kokoelman sinertävät sävyt sopivat täydellisesti sivuun, sillä mekko oli turkoosi, saajan lempivärinen. 

Sivun taustaan käytin gessoa ja vesivärejä. Lisäilin sinne tänne tähtiä piirtämällä 3rd Eyen sablunan läpi. Koristeiksi tein kangasperhosia, jotka leimailin 3rd Eyen perhosleimalla Studio 75:n kanvaksselle.

Magic Happens - Mixed Media Place

Oh, I'm so behind sharing the DT work in my own blog! But better late than never, right? So this is a page that  has been published to Mixed Media Place blog already.

Most people are surprised when they hear that I don't have a craft room but do the stuff I do in our living room. That's partly the reason why I want to finish every project at one go - I don't have space to keep the unfinished ones! 

Of course I know the lack of craft room myself, I thought to document the thing anyway. Maybe my girls remember we having a crafty afternoon together or the curious contraptions (i.e. Big Shot and paper cutter) on our living room side table. So this page is about "my craft room" and my wish that one day I might have one. I took the picture in the layout while I was doing my previous creation for Mixed Media Place.

I started the page with gesso, then used a pencil and Gelatos and then added some Glimmer Mists. Well, you can see the process underneath as I recorded a little video while making the page. Hopefully you'll enjoy!

Olen jäljessä näiden DT-töiden jakamisessa blogissani! Mutta parempi myöhään kun ei milloinkaan, eikös? Joohan? Tässä on siis sivu, jonka tein Mixed Media Placelle ja joka on jo julkaistu kaupan blogissa.

Useimmat tuntuvat hämmästyvän, kun kerron, ettei minulla ole askartelutilaa, vaan teen työni olohuoneessamme. Siinä kai osasyy nopeuteeni tai siihen, että projektit pitää saada kuntoon kerta rykäisyllä - töitä ei voi jättää esille odottelemaan! 

Tiedän toki tämän huoneettomuuden itse, mutta päätin silti tallentaa sen sivuun. Ehkäpä tytöt myöhemmin muistelevat yhteisiä askarteluhetkiä taikka kummallisia kojeita (eli Big Shot ja paperileikkuri) olohuoneemme sivupöydällä. Tämä sivu kertoo siis "askartelutilastani" ja toiveesta, että joskus olisi ehkä joku huoneentapainen. Kuva on otettu kun tein edellistä työtä Mixed Media Placelle.

Aloitin sivun työstämisen gessolla, sitten lisäsin lyijykynää ja Gelatos-liituja ja lopuksi lisäilin vielä vähän Glimmer Mist -suihkeita. Nauhoitin työstä videon, joten ylhäältä näette itse, miten sivu eteni. Toivottavasti tykkäätte!

Courage - Mixed Media Place

Have you seen the latest challenge in Mixed Media Place (link)? It's about emotions, this time the emotion is courage.

Courage has many sides. So when I saw the little tags by 7 Dots Studio I had in my drawer, they seemed perfect to share just a few sides of being courage. It takes courage to follow one's heart, to break the rules or to take chances.

I used the little tags to make three ATC's with lots of different media. It's funny how these little ones took as much time as a 12" layout!

Oletteko jo huomanneet uusimman haasteen Mixed Media Placessa (linkki)? Haasteina on tunnetiloja, tällä kertaa vuorossa on rohkeus. 

Rohkeudella on monta puolta. Kun näin nuo pienet 7 Dots Studion tagit laatikossani, ajattelin niiden olevan täydellisiä muutamaan ATChen rohkeudesta. Vaatii rohketta seurata sydäntään, rikkoa sääntöjä tai ottaa riskejä. 

Käytin näihin kortteihin pikkutagien ohella erilaisia maaliaineita. Hauskaa oli se, että näihin kolmeen pieneen korttiin meni lähes yhtä paljon aikaa kuin yhteen 12" sivuun!
