Intohimona Skräppäys 2013

I had an amazing weekend at Intohimona Skräppäys - Passionate about Scrapbooking event! I learned a lot, made friends, met friends, did a little shopping and even held a workshop and a make and take.

Takana on huikea viikonloppu! Paljon tuli opittua uutta, tavattua ystäviä ja saatua uusia, shoppailtuakin pikkaisen ja pidettyä yksi kurssi ja make and take. 

Minna and me started the party early, so to say, and kept our workshops on Friday. Above is a picture of Minna keeping her workshop. The space was rather empty before my workshop started, but after the 16 people had arrived, we had a really buzy space and an evening sauna! Thank you everyone who participated! 

Minna ja minä aloitimme kemut, niin sanotusti ja pidimme workshoppimme jo perjantaina. Yläkuvassa Minna pitää kurssiaan. Ennen kurssilaisten saapumista oma tilani oli vielä väljä, mutta kun kaikki 16 ihmistä oli samassa tilassa, meillä oli aikamoinen vilske ja iltasauna! Kiitokset kaikille mukana olleille!

 

One of the best parts of the weekend was that Marsha arrived from the Netherlands to visit us again! I was so happy that we took some of the workshops together and I was able to talk to her and create along side with her during the weekend! Thank you so much for everything! You are the sweetest and most encouraging ever!

Yksi parhaista asioista viikonlopussa oli se, että Marsha saapui Alankomaista tapahtumaan! Oli ihan mahtavaa olla samoissa workshopeissa, jutella ja luoda yhdessä! Kiitoksia sinulle, olet ihanin!

 

Saturday morning begun with sweet Birgit Koopsen and her mixed media layout workshop. Perfect start for the day! We used gel medium, gesso, mists and stamping to create our own patterned papers. I was really surprising and chose to use blues, turquoises and greens in my papers. Birgit even remembered my favourite color scheme from last year, when I took two of her workshops and used the same colors in both of them. It's a survival way - when trying something new, I find it easy to experiment with the colors I love. That way I can consentrate to the techniques and not think about the colors.

Lauantaiaamu alkoi aurinkoisen Birgit Koopsenin mixed media layout workshopilla. Mainio tapa aloittaa päivä! Käytimme gel mediumia, gessoa, mistejä ja leimailua ja teimme omia kuvioituja papereitamme. Olin hyvin yllättävä ja käytin sinisiä, turkooseja ja vihreitä sävyjä omissa papereissani. Birgit jopa muisti tämän skaalan viime vuodelta, jolloin olin kahdella hänen kurssillaan ja käytin samaa skaalaa molemmissa. Tuttu väriskaala on selviytymiskeino - kun kokeilen jotain uutta, tunnen oloni kotoisaksi lempivärieni parissa. Siten voin keskittyä täysin tekniikoihin ja lopputulos on mieluinen.

My next workshop was by Nulka and Jazmurka, the Sodalicious girls. It was so much fun! The kit for this workshop was huge! I think we can create at least three minialbums with it! But the best part was the exclusive stamp, with Finnish date names. Talking about commitment!

Päivän seuraava workshop oli Nulkan ja Jazmurkan minialbumikurssi. Kurssi oli huiman hauska! Kurssikitti oli mahtavan kokoinen - uskoisin, että samaisesta paketista saa aikaan ainakin kolme minialbumia! Mutta parasta kitissä oli siinä oleva erikoisleimasin, suomalaisilla päivänimillä. Todellista panostusta!

After the Soda workshop I had a little break and then was all ready for the last workshop of the day - one held by Anna-Maria Wolniak. It was macigal to see her work the technique and make it look sooooo easy! It took me several tries, but finally I think I got hang of it. And see what colors I used? Yep, turquoise and green, no surprise there. I worked with Ecolines, a last minute shopping from Tempera, just before I left for Rantapuisto at Friday.

Soda-kurssin jälkeen oli tauon paikka ja sitten olinkin valmiina päivän viimeiseen workshoppiin - Anna-Marian minialbumiin! Oli taianomaista nähdä hänen työskentelevän ja saavan tekniikan näyttämään niin helpolta. Minulta meni useampiakin yrityksiä, ennen kuin olin tyytyväinen aikaansaamaani lopputulokseen, mutta lopulta tuntui, että onnistuin. Ja mitäkö värejä käytin? Oikein arvattu, turkoosia ja vihreää. Käytin juuri perjantaina hankkimiani Ecoline maaleja.

Sunday was a lot more laid back, which was a good thing because we held together with Minna a late night surprise workshop at Saturday, a little make and take connected with mixed media. Thank you Tattered Angels for sponsoring! But back to the Sunday - on the morning I had time to visit the stores and shop a bit but also mingle and talk to friends. 

My only workshop for Sunday was a layout workshop with Anna-Maria. We worked with a monochromatic scale, using black, white and shades of gray. Here's my layout coming together. I shall blog it in a few days time.

Sunnuntai olikin hieman rauhallisempi päivä ja hyvä niin, sillä lauantai yöllä pidimme vielä Minnan kanssa pienen make and take -pajan, jossa tehtiin mixed media kukkasia. Kiitokset Tattered Angelsille sponsoroinnista! Sunnuntai aamulla oli aikaa ottaa rauhassa, tarkastella kauppoja, höpötellä tuttujen kanssa ja tehdä myös hiukan ostoksia.

Sunnuntain ainoa workshoppini oli Anna-Marian leiskakurssi. Käytimme mustavalko-skaalaa. Sain sivun lähes valmiiksi kurssilla ja bloggaan sen parin päivän sisällä.
