Giveaway!

The Santa visits Finnish families already today, on Christmas Eve, not on Christmas Day. So I thought that some presents are in order here in my blog as well. So my gift to you, or four of you, is a Holiday giveaway! 

The prizes are of 7 Dots Studio's new collections - Collection Kit of Paint Chips and Norther Lights and then 6x6 pads of the both collections. That is four prizes all together! Underneath is how you can participate.

Embossed cards - GDT Wow Embossing Powders

Amazing news! I'm guesting over at Wow! Embossing Powders today! There's two projects and a tutorial in the original post BUT there's also more! Lovely Tania has added a giveaway to the post and you could win all the supplies I used from Wow! How cool is that! Like I said, I created two crafts for the guest post – a set of cards and a layout. I used the same background steps in both of them and prepared a step by step tutorial for the background and finishing the cards. So let’s get started with that! 

What you need is the “Big Words” stamp set from Wow!, naturally some embossing powders, the new Wow! embossing ink and also “Hearts” silicone mold and Mel-It! powder. You also need some patterned paper and white cardstock and also a stencil and watercolors. 

 

Step 1) Stamp the words to your background using the embossing ink. Try to avoid stamping the words on top of each other, but vary the orientation – stamp some vertically, some horizontally. 

Step 2) Sprinkle the pattern with white embossing powder and heat to melt the powder. 

 

Step 3) Add some watercolor touches on top. The embossed areas will resist the color. Just add paint freely and don’t forget to include some splashes, too.

Step 4) After drying the paint, add embossing ink through a stencil to your piece. Concentrate to one focal point. Emboss the design using a colored powder of your choice. 

 

Step 5) Make the greeting to the card. Stamp a word or a phrase to a piece of white cardstock and emboss with the same color you used in previous step. 

Step 6) Time to put everything together – adhere your background piece to a slightly larger piece of white cardstock and then include the greeting piece using foam dots for extra detail. 

Step 7) Finish the card with a heart made using the silicone mold, Melt-It powder and same color you have used in steps 4 and 5.

Big One - Scrap365 and a giveaway

Merry Christmas! Was there such a sight in your household that's captured in the photo on the layout? A gift bigger than the receiver? Although this page was published in the July 2014 issue of Scrap365 in the article titled "Plastic? Fantastic!" I though the theme in the layout fitted this time of the year nicely. And talking about presents, keep scrolling downwards...

The article was about epoxies and all sorts of plastic embellishments and how to add them to the pages. In this one I used the different stickers to heighten the bubbling, joyous feeling! The topic is the big or should I say huge present my daughter caught as a birthday present. It was so sweet to see her proudly carrying the big present and then opening it. And what was inside? A baby doll and clothes for it as well as other nursing props.

In Finland the Santa brings the presents already on the 24th but as I know that in many countries it's the tradition to have them on the 25th I have a present for you! Or rather one of you. There's two stencils, diecut cards, wooden embellies and a little pouch of all things nice (aka spare items from different sets)! These are all by Happy Scatter - a brand by Jennifer Grace! 

Remember my guest post to Jennifer's event? She then send me some of her Happy Scatter items to play with but they didn't show up and we thought they'd be lost for good. She then send me another set of supplies to play with for the guest post and about a week after they had arrived the first shipment arrived as well! I guess these supplies just wanted to see the world or something.

Birgit Koopsen and Carabelle Studio Blog Hop & Giveaway

Hello and welcome to the Birgit Koopsen and Carabelle Studio Blog Hop and Giveaway! If you arrived from lovely Marsha, you are on the right track! 

As you may have heard Birgit recently released her first collection of 6 mixed media stamp sets with Carabelle Studio. I am so thrilled and beyond happy to be one of the designers she picked to try out her designs and be part of this blog hop! 

I created seven layouts using the following sets: "I heart Washi Tape", "Layered Strips" and "Frech Lily Background". You can see all the sets here at Carabelle Studio shop (link) and order them from there, too! 

Today I'm sharing with you one of the layouts I made together with a video. I shall be posting the six others through out the following moth. But here's a few sneaks of them already!

Ok then, here's my layout made with two of the sets shown earlier! I've used "Layered Strips" and "I heart Washi Tape" here. From the video underneath you can see how the page came into being! 

The topic of the page is twinkling Eiffel tower. Last spring Marsha and me visited Version Scrap event in Paris and on Saturday night we thought to go see the Eiffel tower. By a happy coincidence we took the metro too far in the first try, saw the modern triumphal arc first and headed to Eiffel. It was just a few minutes to midnight or was it eleven when we reached the park near the tower and while walking towards it, it started to sparkle and twinkle! Really magical!

I felt that "Layered Strips" had the same feeling as the twinkling tower. It has got the same architectural style than the tower. I used embossing glitters to have the same sparkling effect to the page. To give the page even more sparkle I also used a the starry part of "I heart Washi Tape" in the page and added a few punched ones, too.

Calligraphy book giveaway

Hello and happy Friday! Calligraphy seems to be really hot right now in the crafting world. So what a better way to start the weekend than a giveaway connected to that trend!

Happy Lettering with the Right Tools -book is made by a Finnish calligrapher and artist Marika Koskimäki-Ketälä. She was sweet enough to send me a copy some time ago and I really was inspired by the happy, playful letters in the book. I blogged about the book and it's influence previously here (link).
