Peppermint merriment - FB live recording

Hi there! Here's another FB live recording, this time something more recent. And unfortunately at least on the live day FB didn't support landscape mode so the camera view is a bit challenging. I need to look into that and see if I need to change the lives to YouTube or maybe even take a break from them.

But back to the project! This time the goal was a bit different as I didn't have a sample prepared. I thought that seeing the whole "go with the flow" process might be fun. Because I didn't want to be totally unprepared and fetch stuff all the time during the live I drew inspiration from Tanya (link) and from Nathifa (link) and decided the color scheme. I used red acrylics for the bottom part and minty and green tones for the upper part.

If you were unable to attend the live while it was happening, please see the recording underneath. And I do apologize for the inconvenience the orientation brings!

As I was creating on the go, so to say, I didn't have a materials list in the announcement post. But I put one up here, should you want to see the paint colors or something else. The ephemera, I fished out of my drawer, though, isn't listed in particular as there's several sources and brands and some of the items are also from ATC swaps! But should you wish to know a specific product, I can try to rummage through my memory!

Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a great Wednesday!

Materials:
(links to manufacturer sites)

different ephemera from my "left over box" like 7 Dots Studio die cuts
white epoxy stickers
paper cutter, brush, sponge, inking tool, scissors, stapler
foam tape, double sided tape, craft glue

Cookies and creating - a FB live announcement

Moikka moi! It's a special week again! Firstly, there's a live coming this weekend and secondly, there's only two posts. Wednesday is Finland's Independence day so I'm spending the day with loved ones and skipped that day with a post. So it's this announcement post and then the Friday process video post.

But back to the live announcement! Like I said in November, I'm doing it a bit differently as it's the Holiday season creeping in. I'm going to create an art journaling spread, but I still don't have any idea what I'm doing. I thought that it would be fun to see, just going for it, no planning. Of course, when I'm picking the materials on Saturday I will do some planning so I don't have to run back and forth, but still try to be as spontaneous as possible!

So bring your own gingerbreads and maybe a hot beverage of your choice and let's craft and chat together!

White Christmas - a FB recording

Hi there! It's a new week and new posts! This week things will be a bit different as I'm breaking my normal blogging schedule. As you might have noticed, I post normally on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. This week I'm posting Tuesday, Thursday and Friday!

Today's post is a recording of the FB live I kept some weeks ago. It was this tealight card and I kept the live in my mother tongue, Finnish. You can see the recording underneath. I bet you'll understand the process even though it's in a foreign language. But should you have any questions, just ask!

If you wish to see more pictures of the sample as well as a picture of the card in the dark with the tealight inside the easel fold, please see the announcement post (link). You can find a list of materials in there as well.

Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a fine day!

Festive season is knocking - FB live announcement

Hi there and happy Wednesday! Today I have another Facebook live announcement to share! Last week I kept a live in my native tongue, Finnish, and this coming Friday I'm now keeping a live in English. The time is this Friday, November 17th 7 pm CET. The place is my blog's Facebook page (link). The recording will be available almost immediately after the live in Facebook, but I will upload it to also my YouTube channel later.

During the live I will transform some pieces of cardboard and cardstock to a festive door. If you want to create along side me, I've listed the supplies I'm using underneath the next photo.

Hope to see you on Friday! Thank you for stopping by today! Have a great day!

White Xmas - FB live announcement

Hello and bright new week! Today I again have bilingual post as I'm announcing a FB live that I'll keep in Finnish. The time is this coming Friday at 6pm Finnish time - that's 5 pm CET. During the live I'll be making a Holiday easel card, which you can illuminate by placing a tea light behind the decorated front.

While I keep the live in Finnish you are still welcomed to join and ask questions also in English! Hope to see you then! Thank you for stopping by today!

Moikka moi! Kaksikielinen postaus tänään taasen kun ilmoitan tämän kuun suomenkielisen liven! Paikkana on tutusti blogini FB-sivu ja aika perjantai 10. marraskuuta klo 18 Suomen aikaa.

Tällä kertaa työn alla on talvinen kortti.

Tervetuloa seuraamaan perjantaina! Käytetyt materiaalit löytyvät tuttuun tapaan kuvan alta, jos haluat tehdä vastaavaa itse taikka tarkistaa vaikkapa musteen värin.

Cornucopia of autumn - FB live recording

Moikka moi! Last Saturday I kept a FB live and used gesso in a couple of ways while making this autumn project. The sample project was a bit more colorful, but I decided to make this one in more of tea tones. You can see the sample in the announcement post (link).

If you were unable to join the live, you can see the recording underneath. As you can see from it, I used gesso as an adhesive and to create texture in a number of ways. I also used it as a primer it is.

During the live I refer to this older video (link). It's a part of a series with three different gessos, white, black and clear. In those videos I share ideas how to use the medium.

After filming I let the project dry, like I said, and then added some color to the "ground". Just a touch of brown and black to give it a bit more of a ground look than snow. If you want to see more pictures of the sample project or a materials list with links, please head over to the announcement post (link).

Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a splendid Wednesday!

Autumn feels - Facebook live annoucement

Hi there and happy new week! Today I have a Facebook live announcement for you! This time I'll be making this  autumn assemblage. The time is this coming Saturday, at 7 pm CET / 1 pm EST and place my blog's Facebook page.

Each month it's a quest to think about what to do. This time the idea partly came from not inventing the wheel again, so I used this old video (link) as my jumping off point! So, I'll be using gesso in a couple of ways white creating this little assemblage with mushrooms, twigs and leaves.

As always, you can see the list of materials under next photo. They are there if you wish to create something along with me or just check the materials at any given point. I'll add the list also to the recording when I upload it to YouTube.

Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a great Tuesday and hopefully I'll see you on Saturday!

Materials:

A piece of thick cardstock
Patterned paper with high contrast pattern

Homeland happiness - FB live recording

Last Friday I kept a FB live in my mother tongue, Finnish. During the live I created two ATCs using gel printing as the first layer, then some stamping and finally added different die cuts on top. You can see the announcement post of the live here (link).

If you were unable to attend the live and want to take a look, I've included the recording underneath. Please let me know if you have any questions! They say that a picture tells a thousand words, but still it might be easier to ask clarification than try to interpret Finnish!

As you can see, I used ready ATC bases as my bottom layer. I sometimes do that but more often cut my own either as the first thing or then first create a background piece and then cut it to correct sized bits. I also made some "washi" tape of my own using tissue paper as the substrate.

If you want to see a detailed materials list, you can find one in the announcement post here (link).

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a great Wednesday! I'll be back on Friday with the month's last process video.
