Black and white - a pair of cards

Hi there and happy Friday! Today I have a card video to share with you. It's the same card but with either white or black background and details.

Some time ago I got this beautiful paper set from Fabrika Decoru. As you may guess, I have quite a stash of patterned papers, but still I fell in love with these papers so much that I got the 8x8 pad. I guess one of the reasons the patterns intrigued me so much was the fact that there was the same pattern on top of white and black background. After hoarding the papers for a while, I decided to use that fact as a jumping off point for a process video. You can see the result underneath.

As I say in the video, sometimes the process isn't a straight line, but takes an extra turn along the way. With these card I felt like I wanted something more than just the beautiful bloom and frame. As you could see, I stamped a couple of birds but then removed them later on. The biggest issue was the direction and maybe even the size. Something was clearly off in both cards. Luckily a bit later in the process I found a replacing element, something to tie the composition together and that could be used on both cards - the pebbles. They added a bit of dimension to the makes and fitted nicely both color schemes.

Last week I babbled about the choice between black and white gesso. That could apply to these cards as well - I'm not sure which one I prefer and in fact, that may change daily. At this moment I think I like the black version more, I'm really drawn to its contrast. How about you? Do you have a clear favorite?

Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a splendid Friday and nice weekend! Please remember the FB live tomorrow!
