Hi there! Today I'm sharing a bright birthday card which I made for WOW! Embossing Powder with you. I usually steer towards analogous color schemes and hardly ever use complementary colors in a project. But for this month, I decided to go bold inspired by the "bright color combos" theme of the monthly challenge.
So, even though I normally would go for blues and greens or even quite muted palettes, with this card I used orange, yellow, red and teal in the same project! That's a bold stroke for me. It was actually quite energizing to use this combo for this time of the year as at least here in Finland the weather is, for lack of a better word, gloomy. Combining vibrant colors together felt fun and I think I need to do it again! This combo is quite close to a triad color scheme, so maybe I need to play with that more often.
Where as I played with colors in this card, I also played with translucent powders. Like I added "Pink Robin" and "Indigo" powders on top of the orange background and transformed their colors that way. I also used a translucent embossing glitter to add sparkle to the little girl's dress and tweaked the color of the balloons using "Lagoon" on top of "Serene".
