Rosy Holidays - Paper Garden

I was thinking about hellebores when creating this card. I know, the rose pictures I used look nothing like hellebores, but the idea came from the Finnish word of the plant – jouluruusu, “Christmas rose”. So, when I realized I had a bunch of glossy rose pictures, I thought to turn them into a rosy Holiday greeting!

I used pink cardstock to make the card base, then added a piece of patterned paper on top and on top that I added an old invoice. I made the base for the composition using washi circle stickers and postage stamps. On top I created a dimensional rosy layer using Icing Paste, a shiny modeling paste. Then I started to layer the roses, making a big bouquet out of those. To finish the composition and card I added a few pieces of silk and some crystal stickers.

The greeting (“Rauhallista joulua” – Peaceful Christmas) is typed using an old typewriter I’ve gotten from my mother. She used the same typewriter to write her thesis back in the day and it still works perfectly! I really love using it to write and embrace every mistake I make as those are what make it different from a computer printed piece!

With this card I want to wish a joyful Holiday time to you all and all the best for the new year 2020!
