Hi there! Today I'm sharing a little project and a video I did for Paper Garden some time ago! This time I made some ATCs for spring. While I was making the cards, a couple of months ago, the scenery outside was still somewhat snowy, but the early spring flowers like snowdrops and crocuses were starting to emerge from beneath the snow. So, I thought some spring fairies with light colors might be just the thing!
The papers I’m using in these cards are from past Paper Garden kits. But like I typed in the video, you can find similar papers from the printables. Like this “Journaling Kit” has some of the fairies I used (link)! Obviously you can use any other papers and images as well or even draw your own!
I started the cards using one of my “go-to” ways to break a blank page – by making a basket style weaving with thin strips of paper. This adds pattern and texture to the background but also guides the eye in as your gaze is naturally drawn to the places where the lines intersect. Then I just added some mediums on top, made a composition out of the little fairy cut out, a skeleton leaf and some twine. To finish the cards I added some bling as fairies need to have some sparkle, right? I used half-pearls, sequins, and left-over diamonds from my daughter’s diamond painting. They were the perfect size for these small cards!
If you want to see how I made the set, please see the video below!
Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a magical and crafty weekend!
