Hello there and sunny new week! Sorry I've been MIA for a week. Last week was hectic at work, but luckily on Sunday my summer vacation started after 6-day workweek, so now I should have more time to create and blog!
Today I'm sharing a mixed media tag which I made for Paper Garden with you. While I was making it, I recorded a little video. I got carried away with this project like so many of mine – having an original idea what I wanted to do (a mixed media tag) and then letting the project lead me.
Today I'm sharing a mixed media tag which I made for Paper Garden with you. While I was making it, I recorded a little video. I got carried away with this project like so many of mine – having an original idea what I wanted to do (a mixed media tag) and then letting the project lead me.
As you can see from the video, I start by adhering some papers to my tag base. The greyish looking paper is from the Texture Inspiration Bundle and the old book page is from an old Bible. They make up a base layer for my tag. On top I then collaged some postal stamps and tickets using clear gesso. While gesso is a primer, you can use it to make light collage layers. This way you get two birds with one stone – adheration and primer to following layer.
I also use gesso another way in my make. This time it is white one and I use it to add some texture on top of the chipboard frame. Heavy body acrylic gesso is thick enough to work as texture paste as well. Besides gesso, I also used Modeling Paste, watercolors and permanent ink in my make. If you want to see how the tag was made, please see the video underneath!
Thank you for stopping by today! Have a wonderful, crafty week!
