I’m a tea-holic, so I immediately fell in love with the sweet tea cups in the “Pretty Mosaic” collection! The rose cups have such a homey feel to them, I decided to use one of them as the focal point in my altered embroidery hoop.
I added some mixed media touches to the background using acrylic paint “Boudoir Pink” and Metallique paint “Plum Preserves”. To add some dimension to the piece, I rolled tubes out of patterned paper and also from old book pages. On top I then layered some papers, a doily, Mechanicals and pretty blooms.
