Skier in glistening snow - Prima Marketing

Hello and happy Tuesday! The grim forecasts are here and it looks like it's going to be "black Christmas" this year - meaning there's no snow on the ground so it looks pitch black during the night. But one can still hope for a lovely snow cover, despite the forecasts! Or at least, one can dream!

This canvas was made for a post in Prima Marketing blog (link). The post was about Winter Frost and it's filled with beautiful projects!

I was going for a frosty, snowy effect in this canvas. I used an old photo as my inspiration and made a composition around the little skier. I chose to use “Lavender Frost” as my paper collection as those icy, dreamy tones seemed so fitting to the project. 

As you can see from the video, I started by collaging some papers and old book pages to the background using Soft Matte Gel, added white gesso on top and then started creating dimensional layers. Main composition is done using 3D Gloss Gel, my trusty adhesive, but I also used that as base for a texture paste I created with Micro Beads and glitter. Icing paste and Metallique paint “White Pearl” bring delicate shine to the canvas.
