Peaceful Friday. Yesterday I shared first darker project, some sgraffito tags, and today I'm sharing a journal page with the same color scheme.
The background of this page is done using the same technique but there's more, too. The technique “sgraffito” is scratching the top layer to reveal colors underneath. Like with the tags I first I colored the whole page using the Pastels, then painted a layer of black gesso on top. After drying I then lay a stencil on top of the surface and scratched with the end of a paint brush to reveal the colors underneath. I also colored a bigger area on top of the gesso, some rays and even added splashes by melting the Pastels with my heat tool!
