Good evening crafty people! First of all I want to thank you all my readers and visitors! Thank you for visiting my blog and reading the posts! I hope you are inspired by them!
This evening I'm sharing with you this page I made as a guest to Wow! Embossing Powders. I really love those powders and they are almost the only ones I use. The jar size in the powders is just right and the array of colors and effects is just amazing! For example in this layout I've used the Embossing Glitters which give the layout lovely wintery look!
I took a few photos along the way to show you how I created my background and added touches of the powders to top layers as well. If you want to read more about the story behind the layout, please just scroll further down!
As I'm a mixed media style scrapbooker and crafter, the first thing I do is to make a background for my creation. This time I used three different embossing powder to make the first layer. I applied the ink through a stencil to the background paper and then used two turquoises and a white powder to add some sparkle to the piece.
To add a touch of color and let the white powder show a touch more, I added some misting to the background as well. The embossing powder resists the mists so it's really easy just to wipe the pattern clean.
For the next step I used a swirl stamp by 7 Dots Studio and embossed the shapes with white. Partly the new shapes were on top of the first one, so at places there was double embossing.
To add the last touches and a bit of contrast I then stamped with grey ink and added some pencil doodling around the place where the composition would come.
And to keep the project cohesive, I added some twinkling embossing to the embellishments, too. I coated two chippies with the powders and added touches to the rose, too. I also created a snowy looking vellum by adding the white powder to a piece of crumbled vellum.
The story behind the layout is a movie called Frozen. We watched the film some time ago and my girls and me were really captivated by it! It's definitely something that can be found on either their or mine Christmas wish list! The photo is actually taken during my older girls birthday party last spring, but as it showed the three of us, the fans, I though it would fit perfectly to this page.
I chose to use the blues and whites in the page that fit the color scheme of winter and the movie cover well. As you could see previously I mostly used the sparkling glitters in the page, but also added the frosty opaque white in there, too.
Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a creative day!
