Hello and happy start to the new week! Today I want to share with you the page I made for Prima Marketing's BAP challenge in June. I found the strong diagonal composition very appealing but instead of hexagons I used circles in my layout.
The topic of the page is my love, my husband. The picture is taken when he was finishing the little guitar he built as a Christmas present for the kids. I built that one up from scratch with the help of my carpenter father. First they glued together apple tree planks my father had saved for a special occasion. Then he sawed the guitar shape, made place for all the electronics and sanded, sanded and sanded in every possible turn. It was captivating to see how much love he built in that instrument.
I guess the love I have for him translated into the color scheme I used as the whole page became pretty pink. The loose cloud shapes of the Free Spirit collection seemed like the perfect background for this layout. On top I added pieces of several collections that fitted the color scheme.
I started the background work with adhering piece of that honey comb patterned paper to the background and then added gesso on top. Then I added the mists in a watercolor like way. I then punched out circle shapes with Fiskar's punches and glued them to the background. When the layout was almost done I lastly doodled some circles and hearts here and there.
I also used circular embellishments like the glass pebbles or the wooden button. I highlighted the photo with a few swirls of the Prima wire and treated it to little embellishment circles, too. The wire is my new product love, I try to include it to every layout I currently do! I usually have that with products that really hit me, they start appearing in all of my projects and then after a while I again start to use them in just here and there, not forcing them on everything.
Thank you for taking a look today! Wishing you an inspiring, creative week!
