Moikka moi! It's a new week again! Today's project on the other hand is somewhat old as I made it during last year for a graduation party.
I usually keep a couple of cards ready to be used if an occasion raises. In this particular case I didn't have anything appropriate ready so I followed my process for a quick card make. The recipe is patterned cardstock, mixed media on top, a big focal point and then embellishments from the "left over drawer" to make the project complete. Luckily there's been a couple of these festivities in recent years so I had the lyre embellishment ready, that's an emblem on a Finnish graduation hat. I paired it with white, black and neutral embellishments keeping the over all color scheme quite minimalistic.
As you can see, I used a Tim Holtz paper doll as my focal point. I thought the stylish looking young man would be perfect for the card. On the background I added some paint touches and splashes as well as some scribbles using a Posca marker. I actually wrote some of the lyrics of "Gaudeamus Igitur" It's an old drinking song but a couple of the verses are always sung during the graduation party at schools!
Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a splendid week!
