Hi there and sunny new week! Today I have something a bit different for you - it's cards for Finnish craft magazine Ihana that were inspired by shibori. Shibori is a Japanese dye technique. These cards are made using itajime shibori, which involves folding the substrate to intricate folds. The easiest fold is a square or rectangle, but you can create a star pattern quite easily, too.
These cards are made using the papers created inspired by the itajime technique. I used watercolor to dye the pieces. Should you want to see the step by step tutorial, you need to get yourself a copy of the magazine - it's in Finnish, though.
Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a splendid week!
