DAY 3: Breaking a blank page - three stages of an art journal page

It's Friday and day three of my first Seth Apter teamie post! Or rather, day three of a series of posts. I thought what to do and came to the conclusion that maybe I should keep things simple. Kind of starting from the scratch and continuing upwards.

So as my first set of posts I decided to break making of an art journal page into three stages. I recorded a video of each stage and will share those videos and stages over the course of three days. Here's links to first (link) and second days (link) in case you missed them before or if you were waiting until the third post to watch all three one after the other!

You can find Seth Apter's site here (link) and more about the Creative team here (link). I've included a list of products to the end of the post with links to Seth's own store.

If the first day was easy peasy so maybe the circle is closing and this third post is also easy one. In another way, though, as it's easy because almost all the work is done already! To me the biggest thing in an art journal page is usually making the background layers. As that's something I already did in yesterday's post, today it's just layering elements on top of each other and the page is done.

I start with one of the two sheets I made yesterday cut and adhered to my journal. On the course of making the page I also add a piece of the other layered background in the make but also cut a piece of one of the sheets I created in the first post. So it's kind of bringing everything together in that way, too.

As you can see from the video and pictures, I mix in different elements in my page. For example I happened to have a piece of die cut kraft cardstock in my table and I included it in. It's something I do, work with the elements that are close by, already at hand, so the page is done speedily. I also mix bought embellishments with hardware store finds. Anything and everything that catches my interest!

I hope you have liked the series! Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
