Dia de los muertos wreath - Prima Marketing

Halloween is drawing closer and closer! Today there's two Halloween styled creation in the Prima blog using the Bloom Girls line and taking a spin! There's hauntingly beautiful layout by Joanne and then this wreath by me.

To tell you the truth, we don’t celebrate Halloween much here in Finland. There might be some trick and treating but it’s more a harvest fest here if anything. The holiday is slowly growing but still it isn't nearly as big here than across the pond so to say.

Not so long ago I watched this really inspiring movie called “The Book of Life” and fell in love with the aesthetics of the Dia de los muertos. So I chose a Pinterest pin of one of the characters for my inspiration and turned Bloom Girls Catrina into a sugar skull painted La Muerte and adorned a wreath with her. I used Prima Palette Markers for the coloring part and really enjoyed layering the different reds to her flaming hair!

Did you notice these two in the wreath also? I also colored the dolls in the blooms in the sugar skull style using the same markers. And also the flowers themselves are colored using the markers. The turquoise blooms are made out of doilies colored, yes, you guessed right, with markers!

Thank you for stopping by today! Do you celebrate Halloween?
