Starting New - 7 Dots Studio

Hi! Here's a new layout I created for 7 Dots Studio. There's a new challenge on the blog and the theme this time is "New Beginning". The rules of the challenge are simple - you need to create a project inspired by the theme and use at least one 7 Dots Studio product while making it. Then you publish your project on you blog with a link to our challenge and also add the “inspirational circle” to your post.

The autumn marks new beginnings. My children are still too young for school, but autumn marks a new start with the daycare. It also marks the start of new season and different weather and temperatures. All these ideas were going through my mind when I started creating, but what I really wanted to do was to draw inspiration from the idea of beginning. So when I came across this photo of my husband building a guitar, I went with it.

My husband makes music and he started to build his own instruments some time ago. The step to decide to actually make the first instrument took a long time, it was a kind of leap of faith. So first it was just one guitar. Then came the other. And other. Now he always has multiple projects going on simultaneously in various stages. So every time an instrument is finished, there's always another one to be started. Some of them he makes from the scratch and for some he uses a ready body or a kit.

I made the background to the layout using acrylic paints and mists. On top I layered patterned papers from various 7 Dots Studio collections and embellished the project with 7 Dots Studio, Um Wow Studio and Epiphany Crafts goodies.

Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a lovely start to the weekend! Hopefully you'll have time to get creative!

It´s gorgous! Love the colors, blues in any kind is my favourites. And Yes, fall marks a new beginning in many ways. Especially in our part of the world the shiftings of season is so visual, that we almost have new starts several time of year.

Love the colours on this one. We don't really have distinctive Spring and Autumn we just go from hot to cool and vice versa. The signs of spring for us are the new shoots... Also our school year starts in Jan not Sept like Europe. :D I do love reading about all the differences world wide.
Love this layout and the story about your hubby. How wonderful to have so much talent in your family <3

That's really interesting! January would be so much more logical start than the August we have in Finland :D
