Inspired by... Scrap365 Magazine June/July issue

It's again the 10th of the month and time for the "Inspired by" creation! But what is Inspired by? Every month awesome Marsha and I choose a subject to be inspired by. It can be a movie (link)an item (link)a designer (link), a painting (link) or a music style (link). Then we make something inspired by that theme or a piece of art and share it with you and each other on the 10th of the month.

This time we thought not to look further than to the fabulous magazine we both create for, Scrap365. We took the latest issue, Jun/Jul 2014 and went from there! Well, latest then as the new issue is just about to be published. If you want to take a peek inside and see some sneaks, please visit the Scrap365 Facebook. Ali, our lovely editor has been posting some photos there during the week.

The magazine is full of great projects, but what struck me the most was articles by Emma Trout and Ifa Zainon. I loved Emma's doodlings and the way she had arranged them on the page as well as the big frame she had in her layout. Ifa's piece on the other hand had fantastic ideas for embellishments - like Hama beads! So I combined the two sources of inspiration and put together this layout you can see below.

Can I just say that I love those photos I used? While in Paris, Marsha spotted a photo booth in a metro station and in we went! Result was these lovely photos! It felt so right to be doing a page out Marsha for the challenge! She's my darling, very good friend and I really loved spending time with her this spring! So thank you Marsha for taking the trip with me! The journaling is about that moment we decided to take the photos and how I just love them.

I recorded a little video while working with the page. There's some gaps there - like the whole doodling part - as I thought that a) my head would have been constantly in the shot and b) that would have been so boring to watch for 10 minutes how I slowly color and doodle the design. Hopefully you'll enjoy it anyway!

If you have the magazine you can see how Ifa's layout also inspired me in my composition. And that little rainbow thingie. I did do many different Hama embellishments, but somehow the rainbow fitted to this page the best. It's like finding a treasure at the end of one - a good friend! Like in Ifa's page I also used a lot non-scrapbooking supplies in my page and went rummaging through my kids crafty stuff. That little toad stool for example came from there, but if my memory serves me correctly, it originally came from Marsha.

The doodlings were also heavily inspired by Emma. Well, for the big flowery one I traced the design tín the paper and then colored the segments differently, but the little falling ones are very much a like those in Emma's page. She had used a doodled frame in her piece, but I decided to let myself easier and used two fuzzy cut ones from a paper by Sodalicious. The big one is from a dolly house packaging from Ikea. I've been hoarding it since Christmas as I really loved the design.

So there you have my piece inspired by the Scrap365 Jun/Jul 2014 issue! Now hop over to Marsha's to see what she has created! I can't wait to see!

Thank you for your visit! Wishing you a lovely day!

Kaikin puolin ihana sivu ja etenkin mahtava idea tuo hamahelmisateenkaari, sopii ihanasti väriläiskänä muuten rauhallisella sivulla! Oon miettinyt monta kertaa, miten niitä voisi hyödyntää omissa askarteluissa ja tää kyllä nyt innostaa kokeilemaan! Olisi kiva nähdä loputkin tekemäsi koristeet!

Kiitos Salla!
Koristeita oli kiva tehdä - osa tekemistäni näkyy tuossa videossa. Aiemmin olen jo tehnyt sulatettuja helmiä - niistä tulee hauskoja renkaita, joita käyttää sivuihin!
