Art, art, art - "Projects that WOW"

One day in March we held an art exhibition in our kids room. There were four people in the grand opening - the artists themselves and me and my hubby. We had popcorn as cocktail bites and the room was filled with the creations of the two little ones. The kids loved it! They really enjoyed explaining the pieces again and especially they enjoyed the popcorn.

The layout is done for Jennifer Grace's online workshop "Projects that Wow". I was honoured to participate as a contributor to the workshop. My prompt was about different mediums you can use to add texture and depth. Hello, could it fit any better? So I used differend mediums creating the background and added texture and depth to it. I also let the artist to draw to the background so that their input and handprint is also visible in the page.

On top of the mixed media background I layered different pieces of paper. I also added stamping and tapes to the layers and of course the embellishments. The purple colorscheme was taken from one of the art pieces shown in the photo.

Thank you for looking! If you'd like to know more about the page, please join the workshop!

Ps. To tell you the truth, the kids room and the door leading to there is always full of their art.

Sivu on tehty Jennifer Gracen online workshoppiin "Projects that Wow".

Sooooooo fabulous Riikka, and so love the idea of a little art exhibition! I put all my sons paintings and drawings on the fridge and then rotate them, as he creates new ones! Your background and colouring, plus the little bits are just super!
