Hello and happy Sunday! 

I did this page for the My Mind´s Eye / Gossamer Blue Guest Designer Contest. I think this represents my style well with a little bit of mixed media, layers and a lot of details. Lately I have been really drawn to circle shapes, too.

The topic of the page is my older daughter, who is really into building at the moment. She enjoys playing with Legos as well as building blocks. These pics I took of her together with a castle she had done. I made this page (link) with a photo of the same situation.

The page has papers and embellishments from various collections. I have been saving that background paper for something special and this occasion felt just the thing. I added first masking tape on it, then applied gesso and sprayed some Glimmer Mists on top, some through a stencil, too. Then I added the paper layers and photos. Lastly I added all the embellishments, twines, threads, title and the washer confetti. The little black circles are drawn through a piece of punchinella.

Tein tämän sivun  My Mind´s Eye / Gossamer Blue Guest Designer Contest. Koen sen esittelevän tyyliäni hyvin, sillä sivuun sisältyy hiukan mixed mediaa, kerroksia ja paljon yksityiskohtia. Olen viimeaikoina ollut myös innostunut ympyrämuodoista. 

Sivun aiheena on vanhempi tyttäreni, joka on viimeaikoina ollut innoissaan rakentamisesta. Legot ja rakennuspalikat ovat kovassa käytössä ja niistä syntyy hevostalleja, linnoja ja kerrostaloja. Nämä kuvat otin taannoin hänestä juuri rakentamansa linnan kanssa. Tämän sivun otos on samaa sarjaa (linkki).

Sivun paperit ja koristeet ovat eri kokoelmista. Olen säästänyt tuota taustapaperia johonkin erikoiseen ja tämä tuntui hyvältä tilaisuudelta käyttää se. Lisäsin ensin taustalle maalarinteippiä, sitten gessoa päälle ja värjäsin kokonaisuuden Glimmer Misteillä. Sitten lisäsin paperikerrokset ja kuvat. Viimeisenä lisäsin koristeet, langat, otsikon ja konfettina käytetyt pyörylät. Sivussa olevat mustat ympyrät on piirretty punchinellan läpi.

"Make it work"

My Mind's Eyen blogissa oli mielenkiintoinen haaste - tehdä leiska ja siitä inspiroituneena kortti, niin että nuo kaksi ovat setti. Tässä oma kaksikkoni, yllä leiska ja alimmaisena kortti. 

Leiska on tehty nuoremmasta tytöstäni ja siitä, miten ilmeikkäät kasvot hänellä on. Tytteli on myös valtavan huumoritajuinen ja pieni koomikko ja ihastuttaa (äitiään) kekseliäisyydellään. 

Taustapaperi on My Mind's Eyen "The Sweetest Thing" -kokoelmaa samoin kuin tuo vadelmapaperi. Ruudukas, beige ja kuusikulmio ovat "Follow Your Heart" -kokoelmaa. Kuvaa reunustava pilkullinen pinkkipaperi on jotain vanhempaa MMEn joulusarjaa. Leimat ovat myöskin My Minds Eyen. Kaiken alla olevan pinkin kakkupaperin käsittelin Rangerin "Picket Fence" stainilla vaaleammaksi, jotta se sopi paremmin sivuun.

Korttiin toistin samoja elementtejä, joita sivussa oli, mutta käänsin paperit toisin päin.Kuitenkin kakkupaperi, kuusikulmio, lankasyherö ja käsinpiirretty reunus löytyvät myös kortista.

There is an interesting challenge over at My Mind's Eye's blog. The challenge is to make a layout and a card so that those two make up a set. The card is inspired by the layout. Here's my set - on top the layout and at the bottom my card. 

The layout is made about my younger daughter and how her face is really expressive. The little one has also really good sense of humour (she's 22 months) and she's a little comedian. 

The background is from My Mind's Eye's collection "The Sweetest Thing" as well as the "raspberry" paper. The note book paper, beige one and the hexagons are from "Follow Your Heart" collection. The polka dot paper underneath the photo is an older one, from a Christmas collection. The stamps are also by My Minds Eye. The pink doily got a coat of Ranger's "Picket Fence" Stain so it would fit the scheme of the paper better. 

I used the elements from the layout to the card, but reversed the order of the papers. But there's a doily, hexagon, the thread and the doodled frame as in the scrapbooking page.
