This page was a special one as I knew the placement of the chippies even before I started the background. Special as it's usually the other way around - I do the background first and only then start to think about how to place the embellishments.
The layout is done Scrap FX and the orinal post can be found here (link).
When I got the "Instant Photo Frames small" chippies I saved the lovely square pieces they had inside the frame. First I was thinking of using them in ATCs or as a background for mini projects but when thinking about what to do for this post they happened to leap to my hands. So I started layering other pieces on top of the squares and thought to use them as design elements for a layout.
The page is done for my older daughter who's in the picture with her self-made bow. During summer time she and her sister became intrigued by "Brave" - the Pixar animation. So when we visited my mother in law's cabin in the woods the little ones and their dad did bows together.
I started the background with some mists and "Circular Shawl" stencil. Then I continued working with "Heart Spangles" stamp and oil pastels and finished the background with some pencil details like tiny circles through "Circle Star" stencil. If you want to see me in action, please watch the video below!

As you can see from the video I treated the chippies with different mediums. The squares are painted with gesso and the details on top them are embossed with embossing glitter. The "you", the butterfly and the chevron arrow are lighter shade of pink, the rose and the heart darker shade. The title is white washed with white India Ink pen.
