Good morning! During the Finnish night the mid month reveal of Scrap Around The World has gone live and here's my page to the fabulous mood board by Di Garling from Australia!
I went with the black-grey-yellow color scheme the board has and also included flowers inspired by the board to my creation. The straws got me making some paper rolls to my layout and the big word gave me the idea use words as a design element.
Even though I followed the color scheme in the board, you can interpret it in any way you like! You can use just one image or several of them or even just one aspect of an image. You can also use any colors. To be eligible for judging you need to follow our 10 Golden Rules found here. Please check them first before entering! The rules include for example that you need to share the mood board image and mention Scrap Around The World in your post and link back to the current challenge.
The "carpe diems" are cut with a die from a yellow cardstock. Then I adhered them to the background with a thin layer of gel medium. On top I added golden and yellow acrylic paint and also used mists to make some splashes to the background. On top of the paints I doodled heavily with both a pencil and a white Sharpie.
Like I said, I used flowers as embellishments inspired by the board. I also included the clock face style chippies from 3rd Eye to the page inspired by the bicycle tires. There's also some shapes cut with punches from a cork sheet.
The topic of the page is seizing the day. The photo is taken on board a plane while flying back from Paris this spring. The journaling reminds me to seize the day and live in the present.
