Adventure Unknown 2016 - 7 Dots Studio

Are you into planners? Currently I have two important notebooks and a calendar. Next year I plan to have everything those three items hold in one place – all workshop info, blogging calendar and my work shifts, all to-do lists and challenge details. I’m still a bit unsure how it will all go, but I got myself a bigger calendar for the purpose. My current little calendar has a mixed media cover and so do both of the important notebooks as well. So there was no other way than to embellish the cover of the new calendar/planner thing. So I embellished my new calendar with 7 Dots Studio products and made a tutorial out of it!

I went through all my 7 Dots Studio supplies – tags, stickers and die-cuts – and pulled out the ones that immediately struck a chord. Somehow of all the things I then piled to my craft table the tag from the “Nature Walk” collection, with the fly, was the one that intrigued me the most. And of course the month stickers from the “Thoughts Keeper” collection had to be in there. So the color palette was set!

I recorded a video while working on the cover. It shows me first doing the composition and then coating the whole thing with Soft Matte Gel so that the paper goods and stickers will endure the hard use the piece is bound to have. On top I then added some misting, stamping and stenciling. You can see the video underneath.

Do you have one planner or are you like me, having little notebooks for different uses? Any tricks and advice you’d like to share to a beginner in the planner party?

Thank you for stopping by today! Until next time!
