Our family ATC - Mixed Media Place

It's Saturday evening here - hopefully you've had a wonderful day! Today I share this set of ATCs with you. They are made for Mixed Media Place and the original post can be found here (link).

These ATCs got their theme and name almost when they were done. Sometimes I have a theme in my mind when I start, but sometimes I just want to play with different materials and the set evolves as I add layers. This time I was playing with the “Destination Unknown” collection from 7 Dots Studio. As the final phase I added the sticker “You, Me & The Sea” cut in three of the cards and then realized that the four cards could refer to our family.

My husband is the lighthouse, guiding us through the storm and the calm. I myself am the seahorse, a little odd looking thing. Our younger one is the sea – stormy at one point, calm at one. And our older daughter is the compass, steadily pointing to her way.

I used tags as the basis for the ATCs and then layered some paper and canvas layers on top. The cards got some shimmer from Glimmer Mist as well as Glass Glitter and Glass Beads. The final touches of color are done with watercolor pencils to which I've been lately drawn.

Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a peaceful evening and Sunday! Oh, and like always, these cards are free for grabs! Please email me if you'd like one!

Back again, gee I love these atc's, especially the seahorse one, just popped back from your post on Finnabair's blog. Will you be posting your sample with her new stamps on here pretty soon? I love what you have done and cannot wait to be able to try something similar.
Hugs, Neet xx
