Easter assemblage

Hello hello! Today something Easter styled. A week back I got a mail from Virpi asking if it would be possible to interview me for a blog post. I was delighted about the opportunity and on top of answering some questions about crafts and where to get inspiration and materials, I also created this piece.

The angle of the whole site and the post was cheap crafting materials so I used many cheap or even free materials for my assemblage. The vocal point in this one is an old spoon that I've gotten from my grand father. On it is a little egg I painted white using gesso. At the bottom of the piece is many different elements including a bottle cap, peg, coin, a part from a computer and tag from clothes. The lot of them is salvaged from going to the bin.

Background in the piece is made of a plank I got from my dad. Or actually rummaged from his bin. I covered the bakcground with pieces torn from an old book. To get the assemblage some Easter touch I added some feathers to the piece and also used a soft, peachy color scheme. And there's the little egg, also.

On top of the almost free materials, there's different paint media used in the project. I used different gels in the gluing part. For the coloring part I used mists in reds, oranges and also a white one to soften the look.

Thank you for stopping by today!
