Blue Marie - GDT Mixed Media World

It's Monday and time for a party! Actually the party started yesterday already but luckily it's going on for a month!

Some time ago I was guesting at Mixed Media World blog. Ingrid then contacted me about an ATC swap and naturally I said yes! She then got thinking how to bring in even more people and asked if I would be willing to join in to a swap party. Of course I again said yes and here's the end result! A month long ATC swap party over at Mixed Media World blog (link)!

Let me quickly explain the idea and rules. You can find more info in the Mixed Media World's blog (link).

If you want to play along, your ATC must be 2 ½” x 3 ½” (6.4cm x 8.9cm), however it can be portrait or landscape orientation. There's no special theme but please bear in mind the blog where the swap is held is a mixed media focused one.

In order to get swapping, create an ATC or several if you wish to swap more, write a blog post with a link to the MMW challenge blog post for the swap and mention in your post that you're willing to swap. If you only post locally or if there's any other restrictions please mention them in your post.

Then link your post to the MMW blog's linky tool and add a word "swap" in there so people know you'd like to swap. Then once you see an ATC in the linky tool that you like, simply visit the creator’s blog by clicking on the entry, leave them a comment that you are interested in swapping with them. If it is mutual, you can then exchange addresses via personal emails and send the cards over. Please also remember to update the post if all the cards are swapped. MMW team is going to take part to the swap as well so keep an eye on the linky tool!

In the end of the swap both Ingrid and me will send four ATCs to four random people that have played along with the swap. I first planned to send these ones out but want to make new ones instead inspired by the swap itself!

For these cards I tried to really do cards that are "my style". So there's paper layering, different mediums and dimensional embellishments. I also used my favorite color scheme - turquoises and blues.

For the main embellishments I used flair buttons that had Marie Antoinette on them. This set the tone of the cards and I tried to have a bit of that glitter and charm the rococo on those.

So are you ready to party? Let's get going!
