It's International Scrapbooking Day! Yay! And what a day it is for me - I still can't believe it totally. Last night was the launch party of Everyday Storyteller 2 and today I'm one of the guest scrappers at Shimelle's blog! Hello, Shimelle! I'm so so honoured. And on top of things, I'm keeping a workshop in Jyväskylä today, too.
To you who came to see me via these events - hello! Or hei, if you are Finnish! I thought I'd share a few fun facts today as well as my favourite layouts done recently. Have to admit, that was actually an idea introduced by Shimelle and I really liked it.
So who am I? Not Jean Valjean from the Les Miserables, but Riikka Kovasin from Helsinki, Finland. I'm married and have two daughters who are a constant source of inspiration to me. Most of my pages are done about them or the everyday life, but recently I have started making pages about myself, too. I'm happiest when I can combine my love for the beautiful products with the possiblility to get messy with different paint media.
It is said that my style is rich in details and textures. I love to use mixed media in my layouts and usually grab gesso jar, mists or at least inks first, when I start working. If you'd like to see how I construct my pages, please check my YouTube channel! I have "from start to finish" videos there, from which you can see how I work. You can also find my works from for example Pinterest, Two Peas and magazines like Scrap365. My blog also has a Facebook page.
Underneath is a few of my favourite recent layouts. The pictures act as links to the blog post about the layout if you wish to know more.
Thank you for looking and have a great Scrapbooking Day!
